The Fort Hood Fisher House helps maintain Soldier readiness by offering a home away from home for families of service members and retirees in need of hospital care. All food items, kitchenware, linens and every other basic necessity used in a household are donated to the Fisher House, which does not receive any appropriated funds from Congress.
