Boardwalk Integral to Kandahar Airfield
16th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment
Dec. 22, 2010 | 2:09
Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan has grown considerably since U.S. forces first started operations from the base in 2001. Nowhere is the growth more evident than at the base's boardwalk, which continues to be a symbol of multinational commerce and morale. Spc. Adam Ross introduces us to a Canadian officer who is overseeing the next phase of boardwalk growth. Includes sound bites from Maj. Louise Maziarski, Canadian Army, Morale and Welfare Officer from Trenton, Ontario, Canada, and Navy Lt. David Cheetham, Assistant Supply Officer, Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 26, from Boston, Mass.
