Soldiers from second armored brigade combat team, 1st cavalry division arrived from Fort Hood, Texas to Vlissigen, Netherlands, beginning their nine month rotation in support of Atlantic Resolve. The brigade combat team was greeted by several units and supporting elements in order to facilitate the transportation of vehicles and equipment from the port to various locations throughout Europe. This will be the 5th iteration of an armored rotation in support of Atlantic Resolve bringing approximately three-thousand five-hundred personnel, eighty-five tanks, one-hundred-twenty bradley fighting vehicles, fifteen paladins, five-hundred tracked vehicles, one-thousand-two-hundred wheeled vehicles, and three-hundred trailers.The armored brigade combat team will conduct bilateral, joint and multinational training events across 17 countries in the Atlantic Resolve area of operations. Equipment and vehicles that arrive in Vlissingen will move by barge, commercial line-haul, rail and military convoy to designated locations throughout Europe. Conducting the simultaneous movement methods demonstrates the ability to plan and execute complex port operations.
