Maj. Gen. Michael H Shields, U.S. Army Alaska's Commanding General, gives the opening remarks at the U.S. Army Alaska Winter Games at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The games will test the Soldiers and the units’ ability to execute required cold weather skills and tasks and build esprit de corps with tough, demanding and realistic training. There are 29 teams, each team is comprised of ten Soldiers. The teams are competing in seven different events March 10-13. March 10, 2014. Available in high definition.
