In preparation for their Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise, in support of Operation Pacific Fortitude, Soldiers assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery got some hands-on familiarization training on the M109A6 Paladin self-propelled howitzer thanks to the Soldiers of the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery. 2-3rd Field Artillery normally fields the M109A7 variant, however, for their part in supporting Operation Pacific Fortitude, the cannoneers of 2-3rd FA fielded the M109A6.
