Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (AirAssault), assessed their deployment readiness by participating in an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise, Oct. 12, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Weapon squad leaders were being tested on their physical fitness, ability to properly fill out a range card for gunnery positions, day and night weapons qualifications and a written exam on machine gun theory and movement at night.
“It allows the commanding general and leaders across the division to see how their weapons squad leaders are performing against other weapon squad leaders within the division,” said Major Alex Boedecker, a Geospatial Intelligence Imagery officer with the division G35 office. “This allows them to see their strengths and weaknesses to better themselves.”
