POZNAN, Poland –
A V Corps Soldier stationed in Germany died in Scotia, New York, Monday. Pfc. Matthew Stanley, 20, was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment when he passed away.
Stanley, an infantry soldier, served in V Corps for more than year and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, the leadership, and fellow Soldiers of our fallen Dragoon,” said Col. Robert McChrystal, commander of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment. “We appreciate the understanding and support of all those connected to the regiment, as we respect the privacy of the family, and care for the soldier’s unit.”
The cause of death is under investigation.
